Anatel has published ACT 2221 – Identification marking in telecommunications products
April 26, 2020

It is not necessary to display the approval identification on products where there is insufficient space for such a procedure, duly proven, and which also do not have any other identification marks of international certifying bodies on the product, or on products that present technical difficulties for this implementation.

If the case, the approval identification must be affixed in the manual and, optionally, on the product packaging.

Electronic approval identification applies to devices with an integrated electronic screen or to devices that operate in conjunction with equipment that has an integrated electronic screen.

Access to Anatel certification must consider:

-The product must allow access to electronic identification without the need for specific codes, passwords or permissions.

-The product must allow access to electronic identification without the need for  plug-ins or  special and supplementary accessories.

-Electronic identification must be easily accessible to the user and, preferably, accessible in up to three steps from the main or initial menu of the product.

-Instructions for accessing electronic identification must be provided, either in the user manual or in the quick guide pamphlet. Optionally, the Claimant can make the instructions for accessing electronic identification available on the product packaging or on its website.

-The electronic identification must be displayed in a clear and legible manner, without the need for any type of enlargement for its reading, understanding or understanding.

Anatel certification -Regarding the integrity of Anatel’s electronic identification, it should be noted:

Electronic identification, as well as the applications and scripts necessary for its visualization, must be implemented at the factory and be electronically tamper-proof; and the electronic identification must remain recorded in the product’s memory even when the operating system is restored to the original factory defaults.

When the electronic identification of the approval is applied to products directly used by end-users and consumers of telecommunications services, identification on the product packaging is also necessary, according to one of the formats provided for in item 5.5, except for the cases described in this Procedure.
