Electrical and radio-electronic products that are marketed to the Eurasian Economic Union market must meet the requirements of the Technical Regulation EAEU TR 037/2016. This document came into force on March 1, 2018 and regulates the content of hazardous substances in electrotechnical equipment.
What you need to know:
Companies that have an existing EAC Mark certificate for EAEU (formerly CU) are required to update their certificate to include the RoHS Technical Regulation.
What is required:
– EU RoHS DoC (with listed EU RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU).
– Internal or third-party RoHS test report or manufacturer’s RoHS risk assessment procedure (assessed in accordance with EN 50581).
What are the options:
1) Update existing certificates. This is the best option if the existing DoC/CoC is expiring soon.
2) Issue separate DoC only for the ROHS Technical regulation to be provided as a supplement to the existing DoC/CoC.
