Eurasian Economic Union, EAEU, will enforce the mandatory compliance of electrotechnical products to the Technical Regulation TR 037/2016 on Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances, starting March 1, 2020.
Covered products are:
Electrical apparatuses and Household Appliances;Preparation and storage of food and the mechanization of kitchen works, as well as other kitchen equipment;Processing (washing, ironing, drying, cleaning) of linen, clothes and shoes;Cleaning and tidying rooms;Maintain and control the microclimate in the premise;Sanitary and hygienic;Hair, nails and skin care;Heating the body;Vibro massage;Gaming, sports and fitness equipment;Audio and video equipment, television and radio broadcasting receivers;Sewing and knitting;Power supplies, chargers, voltage stabilizers;Gardening;Aquariums and garden ponds;Electric pumps;Electric and electronic watches;Calculators;Wiring accessories;Extension cords;and Electronic computers and connected devices.
The effect of this technical regulation excludes electrical and electronic products with a rated voltage of more than 1000V AC and 1500V DC and Electrical and Electronic products intended exclusively for use as an integral part.
With the imminent mandatory enforcement of the regulation, electrical and electronic products must be designed and manufactured so that its composition should not contain the six hazardous substances in excess of the permissible concentration in homogeneous materials used. Cadmium must not exceed 0.01 per cent by weight while the other five (lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers) must not exceed 0.1 per cent by weight.
