On July 9, 2019, China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) published an expansion for the CCC regulation for some products.
The notice on the Implementation of the Transformation of Management Mode for Explosion-proof Electrical Products, from Production Permission to Compulsory Product Certification.
The document’s main points are:
- Starting October 1, 2020, manufacturers must obtain compulsory product certificates and affix the CCC mark before they can release, sell, import, or use the mentioned products in other business activities. After October 1, 2020, manufacturers can still market products produced during the validity period of their production licenses with the original packaging if they comply with the license requirements.
- The designated certification bodies must formulate detailed certification implementation methods according to the general rules and product-specific implementation rules of the CCC. They must submit these methods to SAMR for archiving by September 25, 2019.
